sfc school

Introduction.

This school is a large, successful, and over-subscribed 11-16 comprehensive school. The school has been judged as outstanding in all areas by Ofsted (May 2016)

The philosophy is built around five strands:

• Achieving Excellence

• Caring for Others

• Living the Gospel Values

• Promoting British Values

• Preparing for Life in Modern Britain.

These five strands form the fabric of everything we do here and underpin our curriculum, teaching and learning, pastoral care, and extra-curricular provision. They also ensure that our students develop into rounded young adults ready to take their place in modern Britain.

Aims

Our Catholic School aims to provide:

• An excellent education for all our students regardless of ability

• A curriculum that is rich, broad, and balanced and meets the needs of all our students

• An environment where our students feel safe, happy, and cared for

• An education that develops our students morally, spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially

• An education which prepares our students for life in modern Britain.

Ethos and Values

The Catholic ethos of the school is at the heart of everything we do. It informs our relationships with each other and drives our commitment to providing the best possible education for our students.

We live out our Catholic ethos through our Gospel Values which are:

• Faith

• Hope

• Love

• Forgiveness

• Justice

• Peace

• Service

• Trust

• Truth.

These values underpin everything we do at here and are at the heart of our curriculum, teaching and learning, pastoral care, and extra-curricular provision.
